Minn. Woman Owes $1.92M for Downloaded Music

According to a federal jury, Jammie Thomas-Rasset owes the Recording Industry Association of America almost 2 million dollars for illegally downloading 24 songs.   Since 2003, the recording industry has been aggressive in pursing illegal downloaders, but most cases settle.  Thomas-Rasset’s case is the first in the country to go to trial.  Thomas-Rasset claimed that she was unaware of music downloaded from Kazaa to her computer.
