Rough Economy a Double Whammy for Litigants

A Minnesota man facing foreclosure found there was no help for the poor when he tried to keep his family in the home.  Timothy Cook, who is unemployed, tried to go to legal aid, but they could not help.  Across the country, legal aid offices find themselves overwhelmed and underfunded.  As a result, they can only take the most dire of cases.  Not only are litigants finding trouble getting help from legal aid, they are forced to work with courts that are understaffed due to budget cuts.
